Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg railed against America’s “broken two-party system” and the “corrupt gridlock” in Washington at a book party in New York City on Thursday, hinting at his own reasoning for a potential presidential run. “This really has been a race to the extremes,” Bloomberg said to a crowd at columnist Peggy Noonan’s book release party. “Candidates sense that… America has lost faith with its institutions, but instead of fixing it, they are trying to exploit it.” Bloomberg added that “wage stagnation at home” and “American retreat around the world” were among the country’s most pressing problems. “The list of supposed villains we hear about is long,” he continued, but the solutions are “in short supply.”
