New details about the ricin-laced letter addressed to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg reveal that three officers who came in contact with the mail experienced symptoms—including diarrhea. At an event Wednesday night, Bloomberg said that if the letter-senders intended to stop his anti-gun efforts, they have failed. “There’s 12,000 people that are going to get killed this year with guns and 19,000 that are going to commit suicide with guns, and we're not going to walk away from those efforts," he said. The letter—identical to another sent to the Mayors Against Illegal Guns office—contained an “oily pinkish-orange substance.”
