The Daily Beast is thrilled to accept the 2012 Digital Ellie award for Best Website Department from the American Society of Magazine Editors! The prize goes to Book Beast, the literature hub of the Beast, and was accepted by editor in chief Tina Brown and books editor Lucas Wittmann. This is the first time The Daily Beast’s book section has been selected for the honor, though it received a nomination last year. New York magazine took home the coveted award for general excellence in digital media. Other winners included Wired, which won awards for Best Design and Best Digital Reporting, National Geographic for Best Tablet, and Time for Best Utility App for its “Populist” iPad application. Congratulations to all!
