Erick Munoz, the husband of a pregnant brain-dead woman who has been on life support since Nov. 26, has filed a lawsuit against a Fort Worth hospital for acting against his wishes. The hospital has refused to remove Marlise Munoz's life-support measures, citing a Texas law that requires a hospital to continue treating a patient who is pregnant. The lawsuit contends that the law does not apply because “Marlise Munoz is legally dead, and to further conduct surgical procedures on a deceased body is nothing short of outrageous.”
