Brennan Hearing Revealed Little on Drones

One day after John Brennan, President Obama’s nominee to lead the CIA, was grilled by a Senate committee, Washington is complaining about the lack of information he provided on drones, torture, and the war on terror. Brennan said drones were used only “to save lives and when there is no other choice,” but little else. In response to questions about the harsh interrogation techniques used at secret CIA prisons after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he claimed he had expressed objections about waterboarding to “agency colleagues,” but “did not take steps to stop the CIA’s use of those techniques. I was not in the chain of command of that program.”
