Longtime ABC News investigative journalist Brian Ross, who was suspended last year over an erroneous report about Trump’s former national-security adviser, Michael Flynn, is leaving the network. In a statement, Ross and his chief investigative producer Rhonda Schwartz wrote that they’ve decided to “pack up and leave ABC News.” “While we are signing off from ABC News, we are hardly leaving investigative journalism. There is much more to do,” the statement says. Last year, Ross broadcast a story suggesting that Flynn was directed by President Donald Trump to make contact with Russian officials during the 2016 election. The claim turned out to be false. Page Six reports that the network apologized for the error, and Ross was subsequently suspended without pay after the incident.
