With less than a month to go until Britain goes to the polls in its national election, Nick Clegg, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, has shown a stunning rise in the eyes of voters. According to a poll in The Times of London, Clegg is the most popular British politician since Winston Churchill. Since Clegg's performance in a debate against Labour's Gordon Brown and the Conservatives' David Cameron, the Liberal Democrats have moved from also-ran status to being neck-in-neck with the country's two leading parties in the polls. A strong finish by Clegg's party will result in a hung parliament, giving the Liberal Democrats unprecedented power.
