At least 34 people were killed and 17 others injured in northern Haiti on Saturday after a bus crashed into a parade of pedestrians. The bus was reportedly on its way from Cap Haitien to the capital, Port-au-Prince, and crashed into a “rara” parade in the town of Gonaives. The parades are groups of musicians playing traditional instruments and are often joined by pedestrians. It’s not clear what exactly caused the accident, but the driver and passengers were being held at a police station.
