Cain Accuser’s Settlement Dated 9/99

Herman Cain might have to update his numerology theories. The attorney for one of the women accusing Cain of sexual harassment says his client’s settlement was dated in September 1999—or 9/99, the same numerical catchphrase as the Republican candidate’s tax plan. The attorney has requested that the National Restaurant Association, which Cain headed in the 1990s, free his client from her nondisclosure agreement. The allegations appear to be having no effect on Cain’s campaign. A new Washington Post–ABC News poll shows him running even with Mitt Romney, with seven in 10 Republicans saying the allegations don’t matter when it comes to picking a candidate.
