Cairo Protests Turn Violent

Uprising

Three dead and more than 1,500 injured in fights.

Protests have turned violent in Cairo after several clashes between pro- and anti-government demonstrators. Three died and more than 1500 people were injured in fights as the military stood by neutrally. Al Jazeera adds: “Latest reports suggest that the centre of the square is still in control of the protesters, despite the pro-Mubarak supporters gaining ground.” CNN says small fires from Molotov cocktails are being put out in the city.
