Big news for all you thumb warriors out there: Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 5.6 million copies in its first day on the market, outperforming the previous record of 4.7 million held by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, making the videogame launch the biggest of all time. One-day sales for the game totaled a whopping $360 million. With the announcement, Activision became the first entertainment franchise to set opening-day records in two consecutive years, said CEO Bobby Kotick.
