President Obama may soon have a new working partner in the special relationship: Tory leader David Cameron is edging closer to becoming Britain’s next prime minister after almost seven hours of “very positive” talks with Liberal Democrat Nick Clegg on Sunday. A deal could come as early as Sunday, as both men want to reassure financial markets. The two men agreed to cut the country’s $241 billion deficit, but Clegg has also demanded that Cameron immediately introduce a version of electoral reform. Gordon Brown, meanwhile, is working on a counteroffer for Clegg.
