The death toll for the listeria tainted cantaloupes continues to grow. The Centers for Disease Control said 209 people have been sickened and 21 killed by the outbreak, which has affected 23 states. The CDC said the death toll is expected to grow, as listeria symptoms can take up to two months to show up. Jensen Farms in Holly, Colorado, recalled the tainted melons earlier this month, but they had already been shipped all over the country. The melon's shelf life is two weeks, so they should be out of stores by now.
