Carla Bruni, the wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, has given birth to a girl, according to French media. Crowds gathered outside the clinic where Bruni was taken, but they probably won’t get to see the baby—Bruni has said she will never make photographs of the child public because “exposure to public life is an adult choice.” Sarkozy visited the clinic earlier in the day, but left after about 20 minutes to go to Frankfurt for talks on the debt crisis. Bruni has a son from a previous relationship, and Sarkozy has three sons from earlier marriages.
