During an appearance on The Kelly File Thursday night, Republican presidential frontrunner Ben Carson told Megyn Kelly that the person he tried to stab when he was younger was a “close relative.” He also alleged that he spoke to the person today and that individual did not want their name to be publicized. This is a deviation from his previous retellings of the event, in which a classmate was mentioned as the individual involved. Carson also pushed back against investigations into his past, saying “I would say to the people of America: Do you think I’m a pathological liar like CNN does? Or do you think I’m an honest person?”
When the Daily Beast asked Carson's campaign why the story had changed again, his business manager Armstrong Williams replied: "Please move on. We had no intentions earlier in the week or now, to cooperate with your hidden agenda."
