Castro’s Cleveland House Torn Down

The house were Ariel Castro kept three women imprisoned for more than a decade was torn down Wednesday morning while one of his victims, Michelle Knight, looked on. Knight wore a rosary around her neck, prayed, and said, “Nobody was there for me when I was missing, and I want people to know, including the mothers, that they can have strength, they can have hope, and their child will come back.” Knight released into the sky a dozen yellow balloons, which she said represented children who were abducted and never found. Castro, 53, was sentenced to life without parole last week after holding Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus hostage for nearly a decade before Berry led an escape in May.
