Lara Logan is speaking out about being assaulted while covering the Egyptian revolution in Cairo earlier this year: The CBS News correspondent, who was assaulted in Tahrir Square on the night that Hosni Mubarak’s regime fell, has said she thought that she was going to die that night. She was getting ready to do a report for 60 Minutes in Tahrir Square when a mob of men dragged her away from her producer and her bodyguard, and then tore her clothes, groped, and beat her. She estimates that 200 to 300 men participated in the attack and that it lasted about 40 minutes. Logan says that she decided to speak out soon after the incident on behalf of “millions of voiceless women who are subjected to attacks like this and worse.” She will speak about the attack on 60 Minutes on Sunday, but does not plan to do any other interviews on the subject. “I don’t want this to define me,” she said.
