More work and less pay? CBS is looking to slash Katie Couric’s $15 million contract as the two begin preliminary negotiations for a new deal. The network is also hoping to expand her role, possibly having her produce and host a new syndicated program. CNN has also expressed an interest in Couric and so is waiting to see what happens. Since Couric took over as the anchor of CBS Evening News in 2006, its ratings have have declined by 24 percent.
