You know the desk lamps, the coffee tables, the boxy white buildings, but here’s Bauhaus like you’ve never seen it before. Ninety years after Walter Gropius founded the school on the principle of “total” artwork—comes multiple exhibitions dedicated to Bauhaus. Three institutions of Bauhaus in Germany are on display at “Bauhaus: A Conceptual Model,” until October 4, and a sister exhibition will come to New York’s MoMA from November 8-January 25. The shows in Berlin include 900 objects and will be organized around the stages of the school’s development, rather than theme, following Bauhaus as it changed hands and locations.
