
All museums are sex museums, according to Jennifer Tyburczy, the curator of Irreverent: A Celebration of Censorship, which sets to reclaim the cultural institution for works of art that have received public outcry and acts of vandalism from the past three decades. "The concept is not only to re-display these works," she told The Daily Beast, "but to also contextualize them within their scenes of censorship." Ranging from the controversial works of Robert Mapplethorpe, who sparked a revolutionary debate on public censorship, to the subtle dissapearace of artist's work dictated by high-ranking museum officials, take a look at what's in store for vistors.
