Well this is a surprise: Charlie Sheen's longtime publicist Stan Rosenfield has resigned because he is "unable to work effectively as his publicist" at this time. Rosenfield quit within minutes of Sheen's appearance on TMZ this morning, in which Sheen implied that Rosenfield lied to the media on his behalf about his tantrum at New York's Plaza hotel in October (Rosenfield had said Sheen was sent to the hospital for an allergic reaction to a medication). "I wasn't in control of that one," Sheen told TMZ. "Had I conferred with him I probably would have done something better." Earlier during Sheen's radio chats, reports from the publicist surfaced that Sheen had retired from acting and entered rehab. Rosenfield reacted immediately saying, "Somebody...sent out an email under my company's name that Charlie Sheen has retired. THAT IS A HOAX!". Even though Rosenfield "respectfully resigned," Sheen said to TMZ upon hearing the news: "P**sy. He's not allowed to quit, so you're fired."
