All artists are particular about one thing or another, but who knew that the celebrated American painter Georgia O’Keeffe was picky about what she ate? O’Keeffe’s menu, created by Margaret Wood, her former companion and cook, is currently being prepared by San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s Caffé Museo chef, Antonio May. Found in Wood’s book, A Painter’s Kitchen: Recipes From the Kitchen of Georgia O’Keeffe, the pared down meals, such as soup or meatloaf and bolied or steamed vegetables, have been interpreted by May and complimented with other Southwestern dishes. “We adapted her recipes,” said May. “They’re pretty simple mostly, using just a few ingredients. In some cases we had to make them a little ... spicier.”
