The Obama administration transferred dozens of names from a broad terrorism database to the federal no-fly list ahead of a security meeting between the president, his counterterrorism chief John Brennan, National Security Adviser James Jones, and 18 other officials. After the meeting, Obama is expected to announce the next steps he will take to prevent terror attacks. At the meeting, the FBI is expected to brief the president on how the alleged Christmas Day bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was able to smuggle explosives onto an airplane. Attorney General Eric Holder will also lay out plans to prosecute Abdulmutallab and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will discuss detention capabilities.
