Resident celebrity philanthropist Angelina Jolie recalled her experiences in Haiti in an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour. Jolie said the earthquake that rocked the island and its aftermath was the "most complex post-disaster situation I think anybody, whether government or U.N., has ever faced." Despite all the complicated components, Jolie said the work being done is "extraordinary" and the Haitian people are maintaining their dignity by helping themselves. The actress said she visited Haiti to understand how the U.N. Refugee Agency worked when faced with a problem on the scale of 10 million people being displaced.
