Precious’ Gabourey Sidibe showed the world just how different she is from her breakout role on the red carpet this past award season and she’ll soon have the opportunity to showcase her lighter side as the host of Saturday Night Live. The Oscar-nominated actress told E! News on Wednesday that the deal “literally just happened” and the exact date of her hosting duties is still unknown. The sketch-comedy show returns Saturday with Tina Fey as host, Betty White will also host on May 8, and Ryan Phillippe is scheduled to take on the role this season as well. Sidibe has also signed on for a recurring role on Showtime’s The Big C, which premieres in August.
