Sarah Palin can’t be regretting her decision to resign as governor of Alaska: She has made $12 million in the past year alone, says New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman. He calls her “a singular national industry.” She makes $100,000 per speech; $1 million per year from Fox News; and will make about $250,000 per episode from her Mark Burnett-produced Alaska series. Assessing her place in the American political landscape, Sherman writes, “No one else has rolled politics and entertainment into the same scintillating, infuriating, spectacularly lucrative package the way Palin has or marketed herself over multiple platforms with the sophistication and sheer ambitiousness that Palin has shown, all while maintaining a viable presence as a prospective presidential candidate in 2012.”
