Time for the next best option: BP is desperately trying to come up with a new way to stem the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico after its efforts to cap it with a containment dome failed. Crystallized gas spoiled that effort, and BP says it will need up to two days to come with a new plan. Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reports that Transocean, the company that operated the exploded rig, was responsible for “nearly three of every four incidents that triggered federal investigations into safety and other problems on deepwater drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico since 2008.”
