Joaquin Phoenix to Return to Letterman

Here’s one night David Letterman can count on beating Leno: Joaquin Phoenix will appear on the Late Show with David Letterman on September 22—his first sit down with the host since Letterman tore into him in his bizarre appearance on the show in February 2009. Phoenix is appearing presumably to plug Casey Affleck’s new documentary about him, I’m Still Here. The film is about Phoenix’s transformation into a weirdo and includes the original Letterman interview.
