Europe's big freeze has virtually wiped out transportation across the Western continent: London's Heathrow airport, the busiest in Europe, has canceled all arriving flights and said no planes will land on its runways on Sunday. About 40 percent of flights are canceled at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport, leaving passengers camping out in makeshift dormitories. Trains, heavily used for transport between European nations, are being forced to move very slowly if at all, creating havoc in tunnels. Braving the roads in the U.K. is like driving down a "ski jump," one British official said. The pandemonium has affected a couple of high-profile pop stars: Lady Gaga's 28 trucks were detained by French officials because they wouldn't be able to make it to Bercy Stadium in Paris. British singer Lily Allen had to disembark from her full plane after the flight was canceled at Heathrow.
