H-P is doing its best to move past a scandal that led to the ouster of its former CEO last summer: The tech company has hired five new directors to replace four that resigned in the aftermath of the scandal. The incoming five include former eBay CEO and failed California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman. The four directors leaving the company were part of the decision to throw out Mark Hurd, the H-P CEO who was accused of sexual harassment by a former contractor. The company said the scandal and investigation "took a lot out of the board," and H-P believed some change was necessary even though the divided directors ultimately made the right decision. The new hires bring the H-P board to a total of 13 members.
