Scientists Grow Sperm in Lab

Japanese researchers have grown sperm cells from mice in a laboratory—a breakthrough that could lead to fertility treatments for infertile men, down the line. The study suggests that, rather than freezing sperm, men might be able to have testicular tissue removed and kept in cold storage for later use. The scientists used the sperm from mice to then fertilize female mice, who produced apparently healthy offspring.
