The tides are again turning dramatically in Wisconsin’s too-close-to-call Supreme Court race: Election officials in Waukesha County said Thursday they have uncovered thousands of uncounted votes. In the closely watched judicial election, challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg, backed by the unions, had been declared the winner by just 204 votes over David Prosser. The over 7,000 uncounted ballots in Republican stronghold Waukesha County could throw the election back toward Prosser, a Republican who has expressed support for Gov. Scott Walker. The race has been watched closely in the wake of the anti-union law Walker passed this year after months of dramatic political theater. If a recount is called, it will be the first Wisconsin statewide recount in more than 20 years.
