President Bush once said he wanted Osama bin Laden “Dead or Alive,” but President Obama was apparently only interested in the former category: The Navy SEALs who took down bin Laden were under orders to kill, not to capture, him. "This was a kill operation," an official tells Reuters, who adds. "If he had waved a white flag of surrender, he would have been taken alive." However, the expectation was that bin Laden woudl put up a fight, which he did.
