The initial findings from the black box of the Air France plane that crashed into the Atlantic in 2009 paints a picture of confusion in the cockpit as pilots struggled to get the plane under control. Shortly before the crash, one of the pilots warned of impending turbulence and proposed a turn to the left. In the final minute, the recorder indicates two pilots were simultaneously flying the plane, apparently confused about who was in control. The pilots also continued to point the nose of the plane up during the three and a half minute stall, though generally accepted procedure is to fly downward to get out of a stall. The report comes to no conclusions about the crash and praises the professionalism of the pilots.
