Dominique Strauss-Kahn has kept his silence even as the hotel maid accusing him of attempted rape, Nafissatou Diallo, spoke out in NEWSWEEK last month. But sources familiar with his legal strategy tell NEWSWEEK’s John Solomon that his lawyers may argue in court that Diallo consensually performed oral sex on Strauss-Kahn and became angry when he would not pay her for it. Lawyers may also claim that Diallo was an “earner” who frequently sought cash and gifts to supplement her $40,000 yearly salary. Diallo has insisted, however, that there was no financial motivation and that she is the victim of a crime.
