First there was Irene, then there was Katia, and soon there may be Lee. The Gulf Coast is bracing for a storm that may dump up to 20 inches of rain. The storm—which will be named Lee if it turns into a tropical cyclone—will bring stormy weather from Mississippi to Texas, and has already forced Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal to declare a state of emergency because of potential flash floods. The storm has already pushed some petroleum platforms to evacuate. It’s expected to hit Louisiana’s coast on Saturday. Meanwhile, Hurricane Katia has been downgraded to a tropical storm—but may gain steam once again as the weekend nears.
