Underdog presidential candidate Jon Huntsman debuted his jobs plan Thursday, but unlike his recent global-warming tweets the proposals hew closely to conservative principles. Huntsman would simplify the tax bracket into a more regressive set of three rates—8 percent, 14 percent, and 25 percent. He’d also eliminate the capital-gains tax, a move that would disproportionately help the super-rich. Huntsman says his plan would be revenue neutral because it would close billions in tax breaks.
