What about the sword in the stone? Scottish archeologists may have found King Arthur’s round table on the grounds of Stirling Castle in Scotland. The gardens contain a geometrical earthwork known as the King’s Knot, which generations of writers have said may have been the location of the round table. Archeologists performing a noninvasive survey of the area discovered a round feature that is older than the visible earthworks at the site. One historian linked to the project said, “The find shows that the present mound was created on an older site and throws new light on a tradition that King Arthur’s round table was located in this vicinity.”
