Landing sites, foot trails clearly seen in satellite photos.

Erosion apparently works pretty slowly on the moon. New satellite photos show that landing sites and foot trails from NASA’s moon landings are still clearly visible on the surface of the moon, even though the last mission took place nearly 40 years ago. In the photos, you can clearly see a black circle at the Apollo 12, 14, and 17 landing sites. From these circles radiate several squiggly lines, which are the footpaths the astronauts walked along as they explored the moon’s surface. The images were taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter when it orbited 13 miles from the moon’s surface.
