After being down 3-4, current world No. 1 Novak Djokovic came back to win a head-to-head semifinals match with Roger Federer. Federer, who has played some of the best attacking tennis in the last 10 years of the sport, started off strong and seemed to have a hold on Djokovic by the end of the second set. But the Serbian turned the tables in the fifth set, taking advantage of Federer's weak backhand and gaining unstoppable momentum that carried him through the final point. This was the fourth consecutive time Djokovic and Federer have met in the U.S. Open semifinals, and a near repeat of last year's match in which Djokovic won the two final points. The Serbian now stands one win away from a fourth Grand Slam title and his third of this season.
