The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is asking all Americans to observe a moment of silence at 1 p.m. Eastern time to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Americans are asked to "cease all regular activity for one minute to reflect on the lives lost and those affected by the tragedies of 9/11." Officials also notified the public that sirens may sound around New York City at the time.
