Your smartphone will no longer burn a hole in your pocket without your knowledge: The FCC has reached a deal with wireless carriers to alert customers whenever they are in danger of exceeding their monthly data plans. The move is expected to save consumers money, as wireless companies often charge their customers huge amounts for overusing their smartphones. Within 12 months, the companies will begin delivering alerts for free either by text or voice and they will apply for voice, text, and data services.
