The Modular Robotics Laboratory said the machine builds itself using insulation foam, and can adapt to different tasks. If you need a Roomba, it can do that. But if you drop a pen behind the couch, the robot can assemble itself into a snake-like bot that can move into narrow spaces. Look out, Terminator.
