Economists expect the newest monthly employment data, due out at 8:30 a.m ET Friday, to show the creation of 155,000 nonfarm jobs in December, compared to 120,000 in November, signaling that work is picking up. But the unemployment rate is expected to edge up to 8.7 percent from 8.6 in November. U.S. stock futures were mixed as investors await the numbers.
