In an emergency meeting with his coalition government, Greece's Prime Minister Lucas Papademos warned his cabinet that their time is running out to decide on a debt deal. "We cannot allow Greece to go bankrupt," he said in the meeting. In a televised statement, he added that whoever disagrees with the new deal "cannot remain in the government." Global stocks declined sharply this morning as investors anxiously awaited the still-elusive deal.
