According to a poll released Sunday, 36 percent of registered Republicans said they prefer Santorum while 28 percent said they’re backing Mitt Romney. It’s a five point plummet for Romney since the middle of this past week, when the candidates were neck-and-neck. Romney’s campaign, meanwhile, has taken an aggressive stance against the former Pennsylvania senator, who’s been enjoying a surge in recent weeks, attacking him in ads and through the media.
