Consumers and advertisers aren’t buying Rush Limbaugh’s apology to Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student he accused of being a “slut” and a “prostitute” for advocating that the government mandate that health insurance cover birth control. Twenty nine brands have pulled their ads from Limbaugh’s show, including Bare Escentuals skin products and Sensa weight-loss products. Other companies are fielding customer complaints and weighing their options, which are complicated by complex ad-time deals through other advertising companies. Meanwhile, Everybody Loves Raymond actress Patricia Heaton, who had tweeted in support of Limbaugh, deleted her Twitter account.
