In a city south of Cairo on Saturday, a train plowed into a school bus, killing 50 people—most of them children. The bus was crossing a railroad track when a train hit it at full speed, breaking it in half. The crossing was open and there was no indication of the oncoming train. The country's transport minister and the head of railway authorities have both resigned in the wake of the tragedy.
