Two Australian radio hosts who made a prank call heard around the world are being made the subject of a “witch hunt,” a rep from their station says. “Prank calls have been going on for 50 years in the radio industry,” says Sandy Kaye, a spokeswoman for Southern Cross Austereo. “It is not designed to humiliate or embarrass.” Jacintha Saldanha, a nurse at the King Edward VII hospital, was found dead after receiving a prank call from two 2Day FM DJs who pretended to be the queen and asked to speak with Kate Middleton.
