Reports that Chavez was in a coma following a surgery lat month and that his family was weighing disconnecting his life support equipment are false, Adan said in a press release Saturday. “The head of state continues to assimilate treatment well and his recovery is advancing daily,” he said. Rumors of the coma were stoked after Chavez missed his own inauguration and failed to speak at Thursday’s pro-government rally.
